What cutter is

Cutter is a video publishing tool for content creators. It downloads YouTube videos, cuts them into short vertical clips, and posts them to TikTok and Instagram on behalf of the user, using the user's own platform accounts.

What data this tool handles

Cutter processes video content and metadata fetched from YouTube. This includes video titles, descriptions, tags, and public comments. This data is used solely to generate captions and hashtags for publishing.

Captions and hashtags are generated using the Anthropic API. Video metadata is sent to Anthropic's API as part of this process and is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.

Cutter does not collect, sell, or share any user data with third parties beyond what is necessary to interact with the platform APIs listed below.

Platform connections

Cutter connects to TikTok and Instagram using OAuth tokens tied to the user's own accounts. These tokens are stored locally on the user's machine. No account credentials or tokens are shared with, or accessible to, any third party.

Content posted through this tool is published to the user's own TikTok and Instagram accounts. The handling of that content once published is governed by each platform's own privacy policy.

Data storage

All data processed by this tool — including downloaded video files, generated captions, and OAuth tokens — is stored locally on the user's machine. Nothing is persisted to a remote database or shared storage.

Video clips are temporarily hosted for preview purposes during the approval step, and are deleted automatically once a decision is made. They are not indexed, shared, or retained beyond that point.
